Hammond 1555J2F17GY 160x90x38 mm Polycarbonate Flanged NEMA 4X Enclosure

The 1555J2F17GY is the shallow, UL listed polycarbonate version of the 1555JF enclosure: a RAL7035 light grey, watertight box with a flanged base made for wall mounting. It is aimed at integrators and OEM engineers housing security, outdoor wireless or control electronics in harsh industrial or outdoor locations.

The body is UV stabilized polycarbonate with a UL94 5VA flame rating. A one-piece high temperature silicone gasket sits in a two-piece tongue and groove joint between lid and base to keep out oil, dust and water, and the lid is held by four included M4 stainless steel machine screws that thread into corrosion resistant inserts, so it can be opened and closed repeatedly. Because the screws are behind the lid, the interior stays secure once the enclosure is on the wall.

The part page lists a size of 6.3 x 3.6 x 1.47 in (160 x 91 x 37 mm); the series table gives 160 x 90 x 38 mm, not including flanges. With flanges the drawing shows an overall length of 200.79 mm, with 4X Ø5.00 mm flange holes. Inside, the box is 17.70 mm deep and the lid 12.00 mm, with room for a PC board up to 76 x 148 mm.

Mounting options include molded standoffs for #4 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws (1555TS100), DIN rail tabs molded into the lid, and an optional 1555JFPL galvanized steel inner panel. The 1555J2F17GY is cUL and UL 508A listed under file E65324, rated IP68 and NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, with IK08 impact resistance and a recommended operating range of -40°C to +110°C.
