Hammond 1554VAGY 240x160x90mm Gray ABS Enclosure, Six-Screw Lid

The 1554VAGY is the general purpose ABS version of the 240 x 160 x 90 mm six-screw enclosure, molded in light gray RAL 7035 with a gray lid. It offers a roomy sealed housing for indoor controls, PC boards and DIN rail components where UL listing and outdoor UV stability are not required.

ABS versions use general purpose material rated UL94-HB and are for indoor use. They are not UL listed but have been tested to and meet IP66, carry an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021, and are recommended for -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F).

Per the drawing notes, the purchased assembly includes the box, lid, six cover screws and a preformed silicone gasket. The M4-0.7 x 25 mm stainless steel screws have a recommended torque of 71-85 oz f-in (50-60 cN-m) and thread into corrosion resistant inserts in the lid. Inside dimensions are 231.29 mm long, 147.29 mm wide and 83.30 mm high, with maximum P.C. board dimensions of 145.5 mm and 226.82 mm listed on the part page.

DIN rail tabs, vertical card guides for 1.5 mm boards and M3 brass inserts that accept #6 self-tapping screws are molded in. Accessories include the 1554VAPL steel inner panel, 1591MM100 and 1598ATS100 screws, 1554VAGASKET, SC583-50 and the 1554FT foot kit. The 1554VAGY mounts through four Ø4.50 mm holes outside the gasket channel and ships shrink wrapped at 1.15 lbs (0.52 kg).
