The 1554MPB1 is a compact one-hole pushbutton enclosure whose lid accepts a single 22.5 mm push button. It is aimed at electricians and machine builders who need an individual stop, start or indicator station that can live outdoors or in wash-down areas. The 30.5 mm version of the same box is the 1554PB1.
The housing is light gray (RAL 7035) polycarbonate with a UL94 5VA flammability rating, and the material is suitable for outdoor use. The lid and mounting holes sit outside the gasket seal, and the lid is held by self-captivating M4 stainless steel machine screws that thread into integral stainless steel bushings. A preformed, high temperature U.L. listed silicone rubber gasket seals the lid and can be replaced. The base includes internal DIN rail mounting tabs.
It measures 3.54 in H x 3.54 in W x 2.36 in D with the lid (90 x 90 x 60 mm), and ships at 0.35 lbs (0.16 kg). The assembly includes the box, lid, 4 cover screws and the gasket; recommended cover screw torque is 43-57 ozf-in (30-40 cN-m). A 1554EPL steel inner panel (3.10 x 3.10 in) and 1554FT mounting feet are optional.
Series ratings are IP66 and NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13; the drawing carries the cUL US Listed mark under file E65324, and the polycarbonate version is UL 508A approved. The 1554MPB1 is RoHS and REACH compliant. Some chemicals, such as acetone or thread locking compounds, can damage the plastic.
