Hammond 1553WDGY Grey IP65 Hand-Held Enclosure, 147x90x25 mm

The 1553WDGY is the largest footprint in the 1553W water-tight hand-held family: a grey case measuring 5.8 in x 3.54 in x 0.98 in (147 mm x 90 mm x 25 mm). It is aimed at engineers building slim portable devices, handheld meters and remote controls that need a comfortable, soft-sided housing designed to meet IP65.

The enclosure is molded from UV stabilized, flame retardant ABS rated UL94 V-0, with a grey TPE overmold that forms a soft grip. The top cover is recessed for a membrane display or keypad, and the front panel is integrated with the top half. A pre-formed silicone gasket is pre-installed, with the assembly screws located outside the gasket channel.

Inside, the drawing shows an inside length of 140.63 mm [5.54 in] for the top and 139.62 mm [5.50 in] for the bottom. The listed maximum P.C. board is 67 mm x 137 mm, mounted on standoffs molded into both halves; the posts accept #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws (not included, available as 1553WTS100).

Four black stainless steel cover screws, M3-0.5 x 18 mm, thread into pre-installed M3 brass inserts, making the 1553WDGY well suited to products that are opened repeatedly.
