The 1553CBKBAT is the battery-compartment version of the size C 1553 Series handheld enclosure, in black ABS with a grey soft plastic overmold. It is aimed at designers of battery-powered handheld devices who need an integrated battery bay rather than a separate holder.
The case includes a battery door and compartment fitted with 4 battery spring clips for 2x AA batteries and a 9V (PP3) adapter clip. The body is molded from general purpose ABS with a UL94 HB flame rating, the top cover is recessed for a membrane display or keypad, and PCB standoffs are molded in.
Overall dimensions are 117 x 79 x 32 mm (4.61 x 3.11 x 1.26 in); the nominal listed size is 117 x 79 x 33 mm. Because the battery bay takes up part of the interior, the maximum PC board drops to 78 mm x 69 mm (3.07 x 2.72 in). The inner box length is 108.91 mm and inner height 27.00 mm.
The 1553CBKBAT ships with the top, bottom, front plastic panel, battery door, battery spring clips (4 pcs), 9V adapter (1 pc) and 2 cover screws; the PC board is not supplied. Replacement black lid screws are SC1553C100BK, torqued to 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). Spare 9V (BS61) and AA clip (1553HDR-BKIT) kits are listed as accessories.
