The 1553CBK is a size C soft-sided handheld enclosure from the 1553 Series, pairing a black ABS body with a grey soft plastic overmold. It is built for designers of handheld meters, remotes, testers and other portable electronics who want an ergonomic case that is comfortable to hold without tooling a custom housing.
The case is molded from general purpose ABS plastic and carries a UL94 HB flame rating. The top cover is recessed to accept a membrane display or keypad, and PC board standoffs are molded directly into the case. This single end panel version has no battery door and is rated IP54.
Overall dimensions are 117 mm long, 79 mm wide and 32 mm deep (4.61 x 3.11 x 1.26 in), with a nominal listed size of 117 x 79 x 33 mm. Inside, the box measures 110.25 mm long with an inner height of 27.00 mm, and it accepts a printed circuit board up to 109 mm x 69 mm (4.29 x 2.72 in).
The 1553CBK ships with the top, bottom, removable front plastic panel and 2 cover screws; the PC board is not supplied. Because this is a black enclosure it uses black cover screws, available as replacement part SC1553C100BK. Recommended cover screw torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). PC board mounting screws are ordered separately as 1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100.
It is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships in shrink wrap at 0.15 lbs (0.07 kg), and can be factory modified with milling, drilling or printing.
