The 1553BXGY is the grey member of the 1553BX dual end panel family: a grey ABS body with a gray soft overmold and removable plastic panels at both ends. It is designed for handheld electronics that route cables, connectors or indicators out of two ends, such as pass-through adapters and portable data units.
The enclosure is 4.62 x 3.11 x 0.95 in (117 x 79 x 24 mm) on the part page, 117.00 x 79.00 x 24.00 mm on the drawing. Inner box height is 18.50 mm, and each end panel measures 64.90 x 18.40 mm. The drawing gives a maximum P.C.B. size of 104.80 x 70.00 mm, and the bosses take #4 self-tapping screws. The top cover is recessed with a 100.69 mm inlay for a membrane display or keypad.
Construction is general purpose ABS with an IP54 rating, and the part is RoHS and REACH compliant. The bagged assembly includes top, bottom, 2 plastic end panels and 4 cover screws, with no P.C. board. Gray 1553 enclosures include nickel plated screws. Note that the ordering table lists the enclosure colour as Grey while the part page colour attribute reads Black.
The silver replacement lid screw pack for the 1553BXGY is 1593QS100. PCB screws (1593ATS50/1593ATS100) and a 1599CLIPGY grey belt or pocket clip are sold separately. Cover screw torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m).
