Hammond 1550Z106 115 x 65 mm Thick-Wall Watertight Diecast Enclosure

The 1550Z106 is a 115 mm x 65 mm low-profile thick-wall watertight diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1550Z Series in natural finish. With a 30 mm total depth, it is suited to flat PC boards, data loggers, sensor electronics and similar assemblies exposed to water, dust or impact, and it is cUL and UL listed under file #E71073.

The diecast aluminum alloy box and lid are rugged yet easy to machine, and vibra finishing leaves a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Four stainless steel Philips head cover screws (M4 - 0.7 x 20mm) sit outside the pre-formed one-piece silicone gasket, eliminating o-rings. The gasket fits into the lid groove and is rated -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to 302°F); recommended cover screw torque is 5-7.5 lbf.in (50-75 cN.m).

Hammond lists the 1550Z106 at 4.54 in x 2.58 in x 1.2 in (115 mm x 66 mm x 30 mm); the series table gives 4.53 x 2.56 x 1.18 in (115 x 65 x 30 mm) with a 0.20 in (5 mm) lid height. The drawing shows 108.22 mm [4.26 in] inside length, 58.22 mm [2.29 in] inside width and 25.20 mm [0.99 in] inside depth, and the maximum PC board is 57.07 mm x 107.07 mm. The rib-free interior simplifies connector installation, blind thru-box holes outside the gasket ring provide wall mounting, and a #6 self-tapping ground screw can be fitted.

It is rated IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 12 & 13, and IK08 per IEC62262, with series testing to IP66, IP67 and IP68 performed independently; customers should test for their own application. The 1550Z106 is RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped, and ships at 0.46 lbs (0.21 kg).
