Hammond 1550Z106BK 115 x 65 mm Black Thick-Wall Watertight Diecast Box

The 1550Z106BK is the textured black version of the low-profile 1550Z106: a thick-wall watertight diecast aluminum enclosure listed at 115 mm x 66 mm x 30 mm. It suits flat PC boards and field electronics that need a black, sealed and impact-rated housing, and it is cUL and UL listed under file #E71073.

A tough polyester powder coat is applied to both the outside and inside of the enclosure and is designed to last even after machining. Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy. Four stainless steel Philips head M4 - 0.7 x 20mm cover screws are located outside the gasket protection area, so no o-rings are needed. The pre-formed one-piece silicone gasket installs into the lid groove and is rated -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to 302°F); torque the screws to 5-7.5 lbf.in (50-75 cN.m).

Listed dimensions are 4.54 in x 2.58 in x 1.2 in (115 mm x 66 mm x 30 mm), with a 0.20 in (5 mm) lid per the series table. The drawing shows an inside length of 108.22 mm [4.26 in], inside width of 58.22 mm [2.29 in] and inside depth of 25.20 mm [0.99 in], with a maximum PC board of 57.07 mm x 107.07 mm. There are no internal ribs; blind thru-box holes outside the gasket ring allow wall mounting, and a #6 self-tapping ground screw can be installed.

The 1550Z106BK is rated IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 12 & 13, and IK08 per IEC62262; the series was independently tested to IP66, IP67 and IP68, and customers should confirm suitability with their own testing. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped, and ships at 0.46 lbs (0.21 kg).
