Hammond 1550Z102BK 90 x 36 mm Black Narrow Watertight Diecast Box

The 1550Z102BK is the textured black version of the narrow 1550Z102, a thick-wall watertight diecast aluminum enclosure listed at 90 mm x 36 mm x 30 mm. It gives designers of slim electronic assemblies a black, sealed housing that is cUL and UL listed under file #E71073.

Its tough polyester powder coat is applied outside and inside the enclosure for a lasting finish, even after machining. Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy. The lid is held by four stainless steel Philips head M3 - 0.5 x 12mm cover screws located outside the gasket protection area, eliminating o-rings. The pre-formed one-piece silicone gasket installs into the lid groove and is rated -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to 302°F); recommended screw torque is 5-7.5 lbf.in (50-75 cN.m).

Hammond lists the size as 3.55 in x 1.43 in x 1.2 in (90 mm x 36 mm x 30 mm) with a 0.20 in (5 mm) lid. Per the drawing, the inside measures 83.22 mm [3.28 in] long, 29.22 mm [1.15 in] wide and 25.40 mm [1.00 in] deep, and maximum PC board size is 28.02 mm x 82.42 mm. Walls have no internal ribs and there is provision for a #6 self-tapping ground screw. This size does not have the blind thru-box wallmount holes found on most 1550Z sizes.

Ratings are IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 12 & 13 and IK08 per IEC62262, with independent series testing to IP66, IP67 and IP68; customers should conduct their own suitability testing. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped, and ships at 0.23 lbs (0.10 kg).
