Hammond 1550Z102 90 x 36 mm Narrow Watertight Diecast Enclosure

The 1550Z102 is a long, narrow member of the 1550Z Series: a thick-wall watertight diecast aluminum enclosure measuring 90 mm x 36 mm x 30 mm in natural finish. Its slim profile suits linear boards, inline sensor electronics and connector strips, and it is cUL and UL listed under file #E71073.

The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, rugged but easy to machine, with a vibra finish that leaves a smooth surface and no sharp edges. Four stainless steel Philips head cover screws (M3 - 0.5 x 12mm) hold the lid; they sit outside the pre-formed one-piece silicone gasket, so no o-rings are required. The gasket installs into the lid groove and is rated -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to 302°F). Recommended cover screw torque is 5-7.5 lbf.in (50-75 cN.m).

Listed size is 3.55 in x 1.43 in x 1.2 in (90 mm x 36 mm x 30 mm), with a 0.20 in (5 mm) lid. The drawing shows an inside length of 83.22 mm [3.28 in], inside width of 29.22 mm [1.15 in] and inside depth of 25.40 mm [1.00 in]; maximum PC board dimensions are 28.02 mm x 82.42 mm. There are no internal ribs, and the box accepts a #6 self-tapping ground screw. Note that the 1550Z102 is one of the sizes without the blind thru-box wallmount holes.

It is rated IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 12 & 13, and IK08 per IEC62262; the series was independently tested to IP66, IP67 and IP68, with Hammond advising customers to do their own testing. The 1550Z102 is RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped, and ships at 0.23 lbs (0.10 kg).
