The 1490MG8 is an eight-hole sloped consolet for 22.5 mm pushbuttons, switches and pilot lights. From the 1490 Series of Type 12 mild steel pushbutton enclosures, it is ideal for wall or surface mounting to provide the necessary control slope for a two-row operator station.
The enclosure measures 7.25 in H x 10.75 in W x 6.75 in D (184 x 273 x 171 mm). The drawing gives an 11.12 x 7.62 in door, eight 0.89 in holes spaced 2.25 in apart, and 0.25 in mounting holes. Mounting position sets the front cover at 30° or 60°.
Its body is formed 16 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams. The internally hinged removable cover is designed to hold open during wiring and closes with captive screws that thread into sealed wells, pressing against an oil resistant gasket to keep out dirt, dust, oil and water. Cover and body are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating, with a bonding stud on the door and grounding stud on the enclosure.
The 1490MG8 is rated UL 508A Type 12 and 13 and CSA Type 12 and 13, and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54 with appropriate components. It ships at 9 lbs (4.08 kg). The 30.5 mm equivalent is 1490G8.
