Hammond 1488EJ7 8 x 16 Inch Type 12 Sloped Front Consolet

The 1488EJ7 is a 16 in wide consolet with an 8 in cover height from the 1488 Series of Type 12 hinged cover consolets. It is designed for use as an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control and instrument enclosure, and is ideal for flat or surface mounting, or pedestal mounting, to provide a 30° or 60° control slope. The enclosure protects its contents from dirt, dust, oil and water, and its wider face gives room for a longer row of devices.

It is formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams, and its construction provides either a 30° or 60° front cover slope depending on how it is mounted. The continuously hinged cover is removable by pulling the hinge pin and is fastened with captive cover screws that thread into sealed wells. An oil resistant gasket and adhesive seal the cover, and bonding and ground studs are provided on the door and enclosure. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and powder coated ANSI 61 gray.

The size is 8 in x 16 in x 7.16 in (203 mm x 406 mm x 182 mm). Ordering table values are Cover H 8.00 in (203 mm), H1 2.50 in (64 mm), H2 7.16 in (182 mm), W 16.00 in (406 mm) and D 7.44 in (189 mm). The drawing shows a 16.34 in by 8.34 in door, a 15.50 in by 7.87 in door opening and 14.20 in by 6.20 in of clear space on the door.

The series is rated UL 508A Type 12, 13 and CSA Type 12, 13 and complies with NEMA Type 12, 13 and IEC 60529 IP54. The 1488EJ7 is listed under UL file E65324 and CSA certificate LR21001, is REACH and RoHS compliant, and ships in a box at 13 lbs (5.90 kg).
