The 1488EE7 is the smallest consolet in the 1488 Series of Type 12 hinged cover consolets, with an 8 in x 8 in cover. It is designed for use as an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control and instrument enclosure, and is ideal for flat or surface mounting, or on a pedestal, to give the necessary 30° or 60° control slope. It protects controls from dirt, dust, oil and water.
The consolet is formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams. Depending on mounting position, the construction gives either a 30° or 60° slope on the front cover. The cover is continuously hinged and can be removed by pulling the hinge pin; captive cover screws thread into sealed wells, and an oil resistant gasket and adhesive seal the opening. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a ground stud on the enclosure. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating.
Size is 8 in x 8 in x 7.16 in (203 mm x 203 mm x 182 mm). The ordering table lists Cover H 8.00 in (203 mm), H1 2.50 in (64 mm), H2 7.16 in (182 mm), W 8.00 in (203 mm) and D 7.44 in (189 mm). The drawing shows an 8.34 in square door, a 7.50 in by 7.87 in door opening and 6.20 in by 6.20 in of clear space on the door for devices.
The series is rated UL 508A Type 12, 13 and CSA Type 12, 13, and complies with NEMA Type 12, 13 and IEC 60529 IP54. The 1488EE7 carries UL file E65324 and CSA certificate LR21001, is REACH and RoHS compliant, and ships boxed at 9 lbs (4.08 kg).
