The 1444-26 is a 16 in x 8 in x 2 in (406 mm x 203 mm x 51 mm) aluminum chassis. Its 16 in length gives a long front panel for multi-channel audio, tube amplifiers with several stages, or electronics that need space spread out across a low-profile base.
It is spot welded, heavy duty construction in 0.051 in aluminum (0.05 in / 1 mm per the ordering table) with a natural aluminum finish. Per the series photo notes, the protective covering on the aluminum is useful as a layout tool before cutting and drilling.
The drawing shows inner box dimensions of 403.81 mm [15.90 in] long, 200.61 mm [7.90 in] wide and 48.21 mm [1.90 in] high. Shipping weight is 1.14 lbs (0.52 kg).
To enclose the underside, order natural-finish bottom plate 1434-26 (0.051 in aluminum, punched with 4 holes of 3/16 in diameter), which is shared with the 3 in high 1444-28, together with plated cover screws 1421J6 (package of six 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws). All components are sold separately, and the 1451 series steel covers are not compatible.
The 1444-26 is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap. It can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing); STEP or IGES solid models are available.
