The 1444-28 is a 16 in x 8 in x 3 in (406 mm x 203 mm x 76 mm) aluminum chassis: the taller companion to the 2 in high 1444-26. The added height gives more space beneath the top panel for components and wiring in audio and amplifier builds.
The chassis is spot welded for heavy duty construction and made of 0.051 in aluminum (0.05 in / 1 mm in the ordering table) with a natural aluminum finish. The protective covering on the aluminum can be used for marking out a layout, per the series photo notes.
Inner box dimensions from the drawing are 403.81 mm [15.90 in] long, 200.61 mm [7.90 in] wide and 73.61 mm [2.90 in] high. The 1444-28 ships at 1.39 lbs (0.63 kg).
Bottom plate 1434-26 (natural finish, 0.051 in aluminum, punched with 4 holes of 3/16 in diameter) fits this chassis, attached with plated cover screws 1421J6 (package of 6, 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping). Both are sold separately. The 1451 series steel chassis covers are not compatible.
The 1444-28 is REACH and RoHS compliant and packaged in shrink wrap. Factory modifications such as milling, drilling and printing are available, as are solid models in STEP or IGES.
