Hammond 1441-9 8x4x1-Inch Low-Profile ASA 61 Grey Steel Chassis

The 1441-9 is a low-profile 8 in x 4 in x 1 in steel chassis in ASA 61 smooth grey. At just 1 in high it is the slimmer twin of the 2 in high 1441-10, sharing the same 8 x 4 in footprint, and it suits thin builds such as small classic or tube-style circuits where height is limited.

The chassis is spot welded, heavy duty 20 gauge steel, 0.036 in thick according to the drawing, finished in ASA 61 smooth grey powder paint. Nominal size is 8 in x 4 in x 1 in (203 mm x 102 mm x 25 mm). The drawing gives an inner box of 201.37 mm [7.93 in] long, 99.77 mm [3.93 in] wide and 23.57 mm [0.93 in] high, with a chassis height of 25.40 mm [1.00 in].

This size accepts both a bottom plate and a top cover, sold separately. The chassis includes 1/8 in holes for the optional 1431-10 grey or 1431-10BK3 satin black bottom plate, and the ordering table lists 1451-10 (grey) and 1451-10BK3 (satin black) perforated chassis covers. Hardware is not provided: 1421J6 is a pack of six 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws, with 1421J6BK in black. Rubber feet are sold separately.

Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available and solid models are offered in STEP or IGES. The 1441-9 is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink wrapped and weighs 0.64 lbs (0.29 kg). Its satin black version is 1441-9BK3.
