The 1441-8 is a 6 in x 4 in x 2 in steel chassis in ASA 61 smooth grey, one step up from the 4 in square 1441-6. It gives builders a small rectangular metal base with a little more length for components, suited to the classic and tube-style electronics the 1441 Series is known for.
The chassis is spot welded, heavy duty 20 gauge steel; the drawing states 0.036 in steel. It carries an ASA 61 smooth grey powder paint finish. Nominal size is 6 in x 4 in x 2 in (152 mm x 102 mm x 51 mm). According to the drawing, the inner box measures 150.57 mm [5.93 in] long, 99.77 mm [3.93 in] wide and 48.97 mm [1.93 in] high, and the chassis height is 50.80 mm [2.00 in].
The chassis includes 1/8 in holes for installing an optional bottom plate, 1431-8 in grey or 1431-8BK3 in satin black. Screws are not provided; order 1421J6 (six 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws) or 1421J6BK for black. Rubber feet are sold separately, and no perforated chassis cover is listed for this size.
