The 1441-6 is the smallest chassis in the 1441 Series ordering table: a 4 in x 4 in x 2 in steel chassis in ASA 61 smooth grey. It gives electronics builders and OEM engineers a compact, heavy duty metal base for small circuits, including the classic and tube-style projects the series is tagged for.
The chassis is spot welded steel in 20 gauge; the drawing specifies 0.036 in steel. It is finished in ASA 61 smooth grey powder paint. The nominal size is 4 in x 4 in x 2 in (102 mm x 102 mm x 51 mm), and the drawing shows an inner box of 99.77 mm [3.93 in] long, 99.77 mm [3.93 in] wide and 48.97 mm [1.93 in] high, with a chassis height of 50.80 mm [2.00 in].
The underside is open. The chassis includes 1/8 in holes so an optional bottom plate can be installed: order 1431-6 (grey) or 1431-6BK3 (satin black). Hardware is not provided; the 1421J6 package contains six 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws, and 1421J6BK is the black equivalent. Rubber feet are sold separately.
