Hammond 1441-42 17x14x5 in Tall Gray Steel Chassis

The 1441-42 is the tallest chassis in the 1441 Series, measuring 17 in x 14 in x 5 in (432 x 356 x 127 mm) and finished in ASA 61 smooth grey powder paint. It is the choice for tube, vintage-style and other electronic builds that need a large 17 x 14 in deck together with the most internal height the series offers.

Although the ordering table lists it as 18 gauge, the drawing for this size specifies heavier 0.057 in (1.45 mm) steel for the chassis, with a 0.036 in steel bottom plate. The chassis is spot welded for heavy duty construction. Drawing dimensions give an inner box of 428.90 mm [16.89 in] long, 352.70 mm [13.89 in] wide and 124.10 mm [4.89 in] high; chassis height is 127.00 mm [5.00 in] and 127.91 mm [5.04 in] with a bottom plate.

The ordering table pairs the 1441-42 with the 1431-38 gray and 1431-38BK3 satin black bottom panels, shared with the 3 in and 4 in 17 x 14 in chassis. Bottom plates are punched with four 3/16 in diameter holes and attach through the chassis's 1/8 in holes using 1421J6 natural finish or 1421J6BK black 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws (package of 6).
