Hammond 1435MD 4-Hole 22.5mm Type 12 Steel Pushbutton Enclosure

The 1435MD is a slim, four-hole pushbutton enclosure from the 1435 Series of Type 12 mild steel pushbutton enclosures. It is punched for 22.5mm operators and is designed to accept standard heavy duty oil tight pushbuttons, switches and pilot lights, making it a compact control station for machine builders, panel shops and plant electricians who need a small group of controls mounted near the point of use.

The body is formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams. Captive cover screws thread into sealed wells, and an oil resistant gasket and adhesive seal the cover. Both cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure. As one of the smaller sizes in the series, this model uses a cover that is not hinged.

The enclosure measures 10.25 in x 3.25 in x 2.75 in (260 mm x 83 mm x 70 mm). The four 0.89 in diameter pushbutton holes are laid out in a single vertical column at a typical 2.25 in spacing, and the drawing shows a door opening of 1.85 in x 8.88 in. Welded brackets provide for mounting, with 0.25 in diameter mounting holes on 10.75 in x 2.38 in centres and an overall height of 11.25 in including the brackets.

The 1435 Series is UL 508A Type 12 and 13 and CSA Type 12 and 13 (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001), and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54, protecting against dirt, dust, oil and water. Appropriate components are required to maintain these ratings. The 1435MD is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in a box at 4 lbs (1.81 kg).
