Hammond 1435A 1-Hole 30.5mm Type 12 Steel Pushbutton Enclosure

The 1435A is a single-hole Type 12 mild steel pushbutton enclosure for one standard 30.5 mm heavy duty oil tight pushbutton, switch or pilot light. At 3.5 x 3.25 x 2.75 in (89 x 83 x 70 mm) it is the smallest size in the 1435 Series, a compact station for machine builders and electricians who need a single start, stop or indicator point protected from dirt, dust, oil and water.

The body is formed 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams, and both cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating. The cover is not hinged; it is held by captive cover screws that thread into sealed wells, over an oil resistant gasket and adhesive. A bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure simplify grounding.

Welded brackets provide for mounting. The part drawing shows an overall height of 4.50 in across the brackets, 0.25 in mounting holes spaced 4.00 in vertically and 2.38 in horizontally, a 1.21 in diameter pushbutton hole, and a 3.87 x 3.62 in door.

The 1435 Series is UL 508A Type 12 and 13 and CSA Type 12 and 13, and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54; appropriate components are required to maintain these ratings. The 1435A carries UL File E65324 and CSA Cert. LR21001, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships boxed at 1.51 lbs (0.68 kg). For 22.5 mm operators, the equivalent is 1435MA.
