Hammond 1427NCGPG29B PG29 Black Nylon Cordgrip, 18-25 mm Cable Range

The 1427NCGPG29B is a larger PG29 liquid-tight cordgrip molded in black (RAL 9005) nylon. It is aimed at electricians, panel shops and OEM engineers bringing heavier cable, from 18 mm (0.71 in) to 25 mm (0.98 in) in diameter, into or out of an enclosure while keeping the entry sealed.

An NBR (nitrile rubber) seal sits behind a large opening, and the strain relief elements tighten in a circular sequence on the sealing ring to hold the cable without twisting or damaging it. A nylon locknut and an EPDM o-ring are supplied with the gland.

This size mounts in a 37 mm (1.46 in) hole and has an outer length (L) of 37 mm (1.46 in) with an 11 mm (0.43 in) inner thread length (T). Hammond's PG29 torque guide gives 7-8 N-m for the sealing nut and 5-7 N-m for the locknut, noting that actual values can vary depending on the application. Shipping weight is 0.1 lbs (0.05 kg).

The 1427NCG series is designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13 and provides IP68 protection. It is UL listed, carries a UL94 V-2 flammability rating, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Rated temperatures are -40°C to 100°C static (up to 120° instantaneous) and -20°C to 80°C dynamic (up to 100° instantaneous).
