Hammond 1427NCGPG21B PG21 Black Nylon Cable Gland, 13-18 mm

The 1427NCGPG21B is a PG21 liquid-tight cordgrip in black (RAL 9005) nylon, intended for sealing mid-size cable at the point where it enters or leaves an enclosure. With a clamping range of 13 mm (0.51 in) to 18 mm (0.71 in), it suits power and control cable runs into industrial and electronic housings.

The gland pairs a nylon body with an NBR (nitrile rubber) seal and a large opening that accepts a wide range of diameters. Strain relief elements tighten in a circular sequence on the sealing ring, holding the cable without twisting or damaging it. A nylon locknut and EPDM o-ring are included.

Mount it in a 29 mm (1.14 in) hole. The part measures 31 mm (1.22 in) in outer length (L) with an 11 mm (0.43 in) inner thread length (T). Hammond's torque guide for PG21 lists 5-6 N-m on the sealing nut and 4-7 N-m on the locknut; treat these as guidance, since actual values can vary with the application.

The 1427NCG series provides IP68 protection and is designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13. It is UL listed, rated UL94 V-2 for flammability, and RoHS and REACH compliant. Static operating temperature is -40°C to 100°C (up to 120° instantaneous); dynamic is -20°C to 80°C (up to 100° instantaneous).
