Hammond 1427NCGM12G 7 mm Cable, IP68 M12x1.5 Gray Nylon Cordgrip, 3

The 1427NCGM12G is the gray version of the M12x1.5 nylon cordgrip in the 1427NCG series. It forms a liquid-tight, strain-relieved entry where a cable enters or leaves an enclosure, and the RAL 7035 gray colour is a good match for light-gray enclosures used by panel builders and OEM designers.

It accepts cable from 3 mm (0.12 in) up to 7 mm (0.28 in) according to the ordering table, with the part drawing stating a 6.5 mm maximum. The NBR (nitrile rubber) seal and large opening take a wide range of diameters, and the strain relief elements tighten in a circular sequence on the sealing ring, gripping the cable without twisting or damaging it. The manufacturer advises using the cordgrip with the smallest maximum diameter that fits.

Installation is into a 12 mm (0.47 in) hole. The 1427NCGM12G has an outer length (L) of 21 mm (0.83 in) and an inner thread length (T) of 8 mm (0.31 in), and ships with a nylon locknut and EPDM o-ring. The M12 guide torque is 0.8–1.5 N-m for the sealing nut and 1–2 N-m for the locknut; actual values can vary depending on the application.

The series is designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13 with protection to IP68, has a UL94 V-2 flammability rating and is UL listed. Static operating range is -40°C to 100°C (up to 120° instantaneous); dynamic is -20°C to 80°C (up to 100° instantaneous). RoHS and REACH compliant; bagged, 0.01 lbs (0.00 kg). The black equivalent is 1427NCGM12B.
