Hammond 1427NCGM16B 8 mm Cable, IP68 M16x1.5 Black Nylon Cordgrip, 4

The 1427NCGM16B is a black nylon cordgrip with an M16x1.5 thread, the standard (small-range) M16 size in the 1427NCG series. It gives a liquid-tight, strain-relieved entry wherever a cable enters or leaves an enclosure, and is aimed at control panel builders, installers and OEM engineers.

This size seals cable from 4 mm (0.16 in) to 8 mm (0.31 in) in diameter. The large opening and NBR (nitrile rubber) seal accept a wide range of diameters, and the strain relief elements tighten in a circular sequence on the sealing ring for grip without twisting or damaging the cable. For cable from 5 to 10 mm on the same M16 thread, the series offers the 1427NCGM16LB.

The 1427NCGM16B mounts in a 16 mm (0.63 in) hole. Outer length (L) is 22 mm (0.87 in) and inner thread length (T) is 8 mm (0.31 in). A nylon locknut and EPDM o-ring are included. The torque table lists M16 (small) at 1–2 N-m for the sealing nut and 1.5–2.5 N-m for the locknut, as a guide that can vary depending on the application.

Finished in black (RAL 9005), the series is designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13 with IP68 protection, has a UL94 V-2 flammability rating and is UL listed. Static operating temperature is -40°C to 100°C (up to 120° instantaneous) and dynamic is -20°C to 80°C (up to 100° instantaneous). RoHS and REACH compliant; bagged at 0.02 lbs (0.01 kg).
