The 1426V is a 12 x 8 x 4 in (305 x 203 x 102 mm) metal instrument enclosure in a beige powder coat, sized for bench instruments, test fixtures and electronics projects that need a low, 4 in tall desktop case with a generous 8 in of depth. It is aimed at electronics designers, OEM engineers and hobbyists building desktop equipment.
The top and bottom are 20 gauge steel for strength, powder coated beige. The front and rear panels are 0.064 in thick aluminum that is easy to machine for switches, connectors and displays. The front panel is satin black and the rear panel matches the beige case colour. The rear panel and the bottom of the enclosure are vented.
At 12 in wide by 8 in deep, the 1426V shares its 4 in height with the 1426W but is 2 in shallower, and it ships at 3.77 lbs (1.71 kg). The material is listed as steel with aluminum end panels, and the 1426V is supplied in shrink wrap packaging.
Each case includes four 6-32 x 1/4 self-tapping Philips nickel plated screws and four self-adhesive rubber feet. Replacement screws are part 1421J6 (package of 6) and replacement rubber feet are 1421T9. The same size is offered in satin blue as 1426V-B. The enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing), solid models are available in STEP or IGES, and it is RoHS and REACH compliant.
