The 1426W is a 12 x 10 x 4 in (305 x 254 x 102 mm) beige metal instrument enclosure. Its 10 in depth gives more room front-to-back than the 8 in 1426V at the same 4 in height, which suits longer circuit boards, power sections or rear-panel wiring. It is aimed at electronics designers, OEM engineers and hobbyists building desktop equipment.
The top and bottom are 20 gauge steel for strength, powder coated beige. The front and rear panels are 0.064 in thick aluminum that is easy to machine for switches, connectors and displays. The front panel is satin black and the rear panel matches the beige case colour. The rear panel and the bottom of the enclosure are vented.
The 1426W measures 12 in wide, 10 in deep and 4 in high, with a shipping weight of 4.39 lbs (1.99 kg). The material is listed as steel with aluminum end panels, and the 1426W is supplied in shrink wrap packaging.
Each case includes four 6-32 x 1/4 self-tapping Philips nickel plated screws and four self-adhesive rubber feet.
