Hammond 1418N4SSP8 42x36x8 In Type 4X 304 Stainless Wallmount Enclosure

The 1418N4SSP8 is a 42 x 36 x 8 in (1,067 x 914 x 203 mm) Type 4X wallmount enclosure in 304 stainless steel. It is the only 42 x 36 in size in the 1418 N4 SS series ordering table, pairing a broad 39 x 33 in inner panel with a shallow 8 in body for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, junction boxes and terminal wiring in hose-down, very wet or corrosive locations.

It is formed from 14 gauge stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The part drawing shows a door stiffener for added rigidity. The door is carried on a stainless steel continuous hinge (removable by pulling the pin) and secured with stainless steel clamps against a seamless poured-in place gasket. Formed lips on the door and enclosure exclude flowing liquids and contaminants; padlocking is provided for.

The removable 12 gauge inner panel is 39 x 33 in (991 x 838 mm), white powder coated and mounted on collar studs. Per the drawing, the door opening is 33.21 in wide by 39.21 in high and usable depth is 8.17 in. Welded brackets provide for wall mounting, and the enclosure includes a bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud inside and a door literature pocket.

For compliance, the series is listed to UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12 and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12, and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. UL File E65324 and CSA Cert. LR21001 apply, and the part is RoHS and REACH compliant.

The finish is natural brushed stainless steel. The 1418N4SSP8 ships boxed at 177 lbs (80.29 kg); its 316 stainless counterpart is 1418N4S16P8.
