Hammond 1418N4SSS10 48x36x10 In NEMA 4X 304 Stainless Wallmount Enclosure

The 1418N4SSS10 is a 304 stainless steel NEMA 4X wallmount enclosure measuring 48 x 36 x 10 in (1,219 x 914 x 254 mm). It keeps the 45 x 33 in inner panel of the 48 x 36 in size and adds depth, with 10.17 in of usable depth shown on its drawing. It is built for instrument enclosures, control housings for electric, hydraulic or pneumatic equipment, junction boxes and terminal wiring in hose-down, very wet or corrosive locations.

Every 1418 N4 SS enclosure is formed from 14 gauge stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The part drawing shows a door stiffener, which the series provides on larger enclosures for extra rigidity. The door is hung on a stainless steel continuous hinge that can be removed by pulling the hinge pin, and stainless steel clamps close it onto a seamless poured-in place gasket. A formed lip on the door and enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and there is provision for padlocking.

The removable 12 gauge inner panel is 45 x 33 in (1,143 x 838 mm), white powder coated and fixed on collar studs. The drawing shows a door opening of 33.25 in wide by 45.25 in high. Welded brackets provide for enclosure mounting, and the enclosure includes a bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud in the body and a literature pocket for the inside of the door.

Standards for the series: UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12; CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12; compliance with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. The part lists UL File E65324 and CSA Cert. LR21001 and is RoHS and REACH compliant.

Cover and enclosure are natural brushed stainless steel. The 1418N4SSS10 ships boxed at 215 lbs (97.52 kg). The 316 stainless version is 1418N4S16S10.
