The 1414N4PHSSM8 takes the 14 x 12 in footprint of the 1414 N4 PH SS Series and extends it to 8 in deep (356 x 305 x 203 mm), giving 7.35 in of usable depth according to the drawing. That extra room helps with taller terminal blocks, relays and instrument hardware in junction boxes, terminal wiring enclosures and electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings.
The box is formed from 16 gauge 304 stainless steel, continuously welded with smooth seams and left in a natural brushed finish. Its continuous stainless steel hinged cover is secured with stainless steel clamps and screws and closes on a seamless poured-in-place gasket, making it a fit for equipment that may be hosed down, very wet or exposed to corrosion.
A removable 14 gauge inner panel, 12.75 x 10.88 in with a white powder coat, is included and mounts on tapped studs. The drawing lists a 13.30 x 11.30 in door opening and 13.15 x 11.15 in of clear space available on the door for mounting devices. A bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud in the body are provided.
Welded brackets with 0.31 in holes on 10.00 x 14.75 in spacing handle mounting. The unit is UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001), complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is REACH and RoHS compliant. Shipping weight is 22 lbs (9.98 kg), boxed; the 316 stainless counterpart is 1414N4PHS16M8.
