Hammond 1414N4PHSSL6 12x12x6 in Hinged Type 4X 304 Stainless Box

The 1414N4PHSSL6 is a square 12 x 12 x 6 in (305 x 305 x 152 mm) Type 4X junction box from the 1414 N4 PH SS Series, built for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures. It suits sites where equipment may be hosed down or otherwise be very wet, or where corrosion may be a problem.

The body is formed from 16 gauge 304 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and a natural brushed finish. A continuous stainless steel hinged cover closes against a seamless poured-in-place gasket and is secured with stainless steel clamps and screws, so the door stays attached while you work inside.

Inside, a removable 14 gauge inner panel measuring 10.75 x 10.88 in is finished in white powder coating and mounts on tapped studs. The drawing shows an 11.30 x 11.30 in door opening and 5.35 in of usable depth, plus 11.15 x 11.15 in of clear space available on the door. A bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud in the enclosure simplify earthing.

Welded brackets handle wall mounting, with 0.31 in holes on 10.00 x 12.75 in spacing per the drawing. The enclosure is listed to UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001), complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is REACH and RoHS compliant. It ships boxed at 16 lbs (7.26 kg); the 316 stainless version is 1414N4PHS16L6.
