Hammond 1182Q240 1500 VA Open-Center Toroid, 240V Single Secondary

The 1182Q240 is a 1500 VA toroidal power transformer with a single 240 V secondary rated 6.3 A. It sits at the top of the 1182 power range and is intended for equipment that needs a 240 V output from 117 VAC or 234 VAC mains while benefiting from a low-profile, low-stray-flux toroid core.

This is the open-center version; a potted-center variant is also listed in the series (1182Q240P). The series table gives 2.30% voltage regulation, a single secondary and dimension reference M. The dual primary accepts 117 VAC (parallel connection) or 234 VAC (series connection) at 50/60 Hz, with a connection sheet included. Units are designed to run with every winding engaged, in series or parallel, or as an autotransformer. Plan the supply protection for toroidal inrush: the magnetizing current at energization is limited only by the primary's low DC resistance, so a slow-blow fuse, time-delayed breaker or soft-start is recommended.
