Hammond 1182Q110 625 VA Toroid Transformer, 220V CT or 110V Output

The 1182Q110 is a 625 VA toroid power transformer with two 110 V secondaries rated 2.84 A each. Series connection gives 220V C.T. @ 2.84A and parallel connection gives 110V @ 5.68A. With dual 117 V primaries it can be fed from 117 VAC or 234 VAC, which makes it useful where equipment must produce a 110 V or 220 V line-level output.

Both primary and secondary leads are #18 TEW, 8"-9" long and stripped 0.5" minimum; secondaries are coded RED-BLU and GRY-YEL. The series table lists 3.70% regulation and dimension reference J. The open-center toroid comes with two 0.093" x 4.75" OD rubber washers, one 16GA x 4.30" OD steel mounting washer and a 1/4-20 bolt 3.00" long with lock washer and hex nut. Shipping weight is 10.8 lbs (4.90 kg).

The toroid core gives the benefits the series is built around: low profile, light weight, cool running and high efficiency, and low stray magnetic flux leakage (low EMI). Materials are Class B (130 degree C), each unit is hi-pot tested at 4,000 VAC RMS primary to secondary, and the series holds UL recognition (UL 5085-1 / UL 5085-2, file #E207860) and CSA certification (C22.2 #66.1-6 / #66.2-6, file #209651). For installation, connect the two 117 V primaries in parallel for 117 VAC or in series for 234 VAC, 50/60 Hz. The series is designed to have all windings engaged, either series or parallel connected, or connected as an autotransformer, and a connection sheet is included with the transformer. Toroids can draw a high magnetizing current when first energized, so a slow-blow fuse, time-delayed circuit breaker or other soft-start circuit on the supply line is recommended.
