The 104Q is a miniature output audio transformer from the 104 Series that matches a 500 ohm center-tapped primary to a 3.2 ohm secondary. With a 500 mW rating it suits compact P.C. board audio output stages that must drive a low 3.2 ohm load from a center-tapped primary.
The center-tapped primary uses the series' bifilar winding technique for balanced resistive and capacitive characteristics. Rugged black epoxy potting produces a completely sealed unit that withstands severe environmental conditions including those of MIL-T-27 (Grade 5, Class S). The part mounts with 0.025 in square typical pins, 0.11 in +/-15% long; unused connections have no pin.
The 104Q accepts a maximum primary DC of 6 mA. DC resistance is 27 ohms primary and 0.4 ohms secondary, +/- 15%. It is rated for 500 mW output with 1 dB insertion loss and a low frequency roll-off of 200 Hz at -1 dB. Peak working voltage is 200 V, and the outline follows drawing figure 3.
The 104Q is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships at 0.05 lbs (0.02 kg). For an 8 ohm load, the 104R uses the same primary with an 8 ohm secondary.
