The ST161208SS is the smallest enclosure in the Eclipse ST sloped top family, measuring 16 in high, 12 in wide and 8 in deep at the front. It is built for electricians, panel builders and OEMs who need to enclose electrical or electronic equipment on a wall in harsh, industrial environments, where the sloped top prevents water from resting on the enclosure.
Construction is formed 14 gauge 304 stainless steel with continuously welded seams ground smooth and a natural stainless steel smooth brushed finish on cover and enclosure. A formed lip excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in place gasket seals the door. Door latches use quarter turns with a slot that requires a tool to open; hinges are 304 stainless with stainless steel hinge pins, and the door can be removed for modifications.
The ordering table lists H1 as 16.00 in and H2 as 18.89 in (480 mm). The drawing shows a 10.48 in wide by 14.47 in high door opening, an 11.97 in wide door and a 70° top slope. The optional EP1612 inner panel measures 14.20 x 10.20 in and mounts on the collar studs provided.
Wall mounting holes are 0.50 in diameter on 10.50 x 14.50 in centres, and a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts and sealing washers is included. A mounting foot kit is required to maintain UL/CSA external mounting requirements. Bonding and grounding studs are provided on the door and in the body.
The ST161208SS is rated UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12, complies with NEMA 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and ships boxed at 23 lbs (10.43 kg).
