Hammond RS5305S 168x108 mm IP65 Abs Sealed PCB Enclosure

The RS5305S is a rectangular, light gray ABS plastic sealed enclosure from the RS Series, sized for P.C. boards that need more length and depth than the square RS5105S. It is aimed at OEM and electronics teams building indoor devices that must be sealed from dust and water; the series is not intended for outdoor use.

It is molded in general purpose, lightly textured ABS rated UL94 HB. The two-part styled lid has a smooth recessed top panel for a membrane keypad, label or silkscreen. Its two-piece tongue & groove gasket comes installed and protects against oil, dust and water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP65.

Per the ordering table the RS5305S measures 168 mm x 108 mm x 78.5 mm; the nominal size is 6.5 in x 4.13 in x 3.07 in (165 x 105 x 78 mm). The drawing gives 73.00 mm [2.87 in] inside height and 100.08 mm [3.94 in] inside width, so there is room for taller components. P.C. board standoffs are molded into the bottom and accept M3 self-tapping screws.

The lid fastens with self-tapping stainless steel screws, which are self-captivating once the lid holes are threaded on first installation. Each assembly includes the box, lid, string gasket, 4 PCB screws and 4 lid screws, with a recommended torque of (43-50) ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. Replacement parts are RS530GASKET and SC624-50.
