Hammond RS5705 254x204x90 mm IP65 Abs Sealed Enclosure

The RS5705 is one of the two largest RS Series ABS plastic sealed enclosures, a light gray housing for larger P.C. boards and assemblies that must be sealed from dust and water indoors (the series is not for outdoor use). Control engineers, OEM product teams and integrators use it where a small project box is too tight.

It is molded in general purpose ABS with a light texture and a UL94 HB flammability rating. The two-part styled lid includes a smooth recessed top area for a membrane, label or silkscreen. Unlike the smaller RS models, the RS5705 closes with stainless steel machine screws into stainless steel inserts, and the lid gasket is supplied as an included kit. The tongue & groove gasketed lid protects against oil, dust and water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP65.

The ordering table lists 254 mm x 204 mm x 90 mm (nominal 9.84 in x 7.87 in x 3.74 in / 250 x 200 x 95 mm). The drawing shows 83.50 mm [3.29 in] inside height and 194.19 mm [7.65 in] inside width. P.C. board standoffs are molded into both halves of the enclosure and accept M3 self-tapping screws, so boards can be mounted in the base or the lid.

Each RS5705 includes the box, lid, string gasket, 4 PCB screws and 4 lid screws; recommended torque is (43-50) ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. Replacements are RS570GASKET and SC618-50 (M4 - 0.7 x 20mm). It is REACH and RoHS compliant, ships boxed at 1.5 lbs (0.68 kg), and has UPC 623980179155.
