The RMCFLANGE5U is a replacement rack mount kit for 5U RMC Series rack mount aluminum instrument enclosures, supplied as a pair of mounting flanges. It is for technicians and OEM builders who need to replace lost or damaged rack ears, or who want to convert a desktop RMC enclosure back to 19 in rack mounting.
The 5U pair is sized for the RMCS190813BK1 solid and RMCV190813BK1 vented enclosures, 8.73 in (222 mm) high, 17.00 in (432 mm) wide and 13.00 in (330 mm) deep. Each of these enclosures has a usable mounting height of 8.75 in (222 mm), the 5U rack space the flanges are made for.
The flanges are aluminum with a black finish. The part drawing shows an overall height of 215.90 mm [8.50 in] and a material thickness of 3.18 mm [.13 in], consistent with the 0.125 in (3.2 mm) rack mount bracket thickness listed for the series, with a 25.40 mm [1.00 in] mounting leg.
RMC enclosures can be used with or without rack mounting brackets, so the flanges can be removed for bench or desktop use and refitted later. The series assembly instructions call for #10-32 x 1/2 in pan head screws through the mounting brackets and side panels.
