The RMCFLANGE6U is a replacement rack mount kit for 6U RMC Series rack mount aluminum instrument enclosures, supplied as a pair of mounting flanges. It is for technicians and OEM builders who need to replace lost or damaged rack ears, or who want to convert a desktop RMC enclosure back to 19 in rack mounting.
The 6U pair fits the tallest RMC bodies: RMCS191013BK1/RMCV191013BK1 at 13.00 in (330 mm) deep and RMCS191015BK1/RMCV191015BK1 at 15.00 in (381 mm) deep, both 10.48 in (266 mm) high and 17.00 in (432 mm) wide. Each of these enclosures has a usable mounting height of 10.50 in (267 mm), the 6U rack space the flanges are made for.
The flanges are aluminum with a black finish. The part drawing shows an overall height of 260.35 mm [10.25 in] and a material thickness of 3.18 mm [.13 in], consistent with the 0.125 in (3.2 mm) rack mount bracket thickness listed for the series, with a 25.40 mm [1.00 in] mounting leg.
RMC enclosures can be used with or without rack mounting brackets, so the flanges can be removed for bench or desktop use and refitted later. The series assembly instructions call for #10-32 x 1/2 in pan head screws through the mounting brackets and side panels.
