Hammond RM2005STBK Translucent Black 105x80x25 mm ABS Instrument Box

The RM2005STBK is the translucent black version of the smallest RM Series instrument enclosure, a compact 105 x 80 x 25 mm ABS case for a small P.C. board molded in translucent black rather than the light grey of its RM2005S sibling. It is designed to house P.C. boards for instrument use and suits OEM engineers, designers and electronics builders.

The enclosure is molded in translucent black general purpose ABS plastic with a light texture, while the front and rear panels are smooth. The material carries a UL94 HB flammability rating. It uses two-part clam shell construction, and the front and rear panels are interchangeable and easily removable for modification. The bottom half has molded-in standoffs that accept the supplied M2.6 x 6mm self-tapping P.C. board screws.

Listed dimensions are 105 mm long x 80 mm wide x 25 mm deep, and the RM2005STBK accepts a P.C. board of up to 96.5 x 66.5 mm. Inside height is 20.00 mm [0.79 in]. Shipping weight is 0.11 lbs (0.05 kg).

Tongue and groove construction provides protection against dust and water, and the design is intended to meet IP43. The lid is closed with the supplied M3 self-tapping lid screws (replacement pack SC616-50). Each purchased assembly includes the box, lid, 2 end panels, 4 P.C. board screws and 2 lid screws; recommended torque is (43-50) ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. The optional FT-01 folding foot kit mounts to the bottom half toward the front to angle the front panel for viewing.

The RM2005STBK is REACH and RoHS compliant. Enclosures can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t format.
