Hammond RM2005S 105x80x25mm Light Gray ABS Instrument Enclosure

The RM2005S is a light gray ABS instrument enclosure from the RM Series, designed to house P.C. boards for instrument use. It is the lowest-profile of the three 105 x 80 mm RM2005 sizes, with a 25 mm depth in the series ordering table, and suits OEM engineers and designers packaging small meters, controllers and interface electronics.

The enclosure is molded in general purpose ABS with a light texture, while the front and rear panels are smooth; the material carries a UL94 HB flammability rating. It uses two-part clam shell construction with molded-in standoffs in the bottom half for easy P.C. board installation. The front and rear panels are interchangeable and easily removable for modifications, and tongue and groove construction provides protection against dust and water, designed to meet IP43.

The part page lists a nominal size of 4.13 in x 3.15 in x 0.98 in (105 mm x 80 mm x 25 mm). The drawing shows an overall 105.00 mm [4.13 in] x 80.00 mm [3.15 in] x 25.00 mm body with an inside height of 20.00 mm [.79 in]. The purchased assembly of the RM2005S includes the box, lid, 2 end panels, 4 PCB screws and 2 lid screws. PCB standoffs accept M2.6 self-tapping screws and the recommended torque is (43-50) Ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. Replacement screw packs are SC616-50 (M3 x 20mm self-tapping lid screws) and SC519-50 (M2.6 x 6mm PCB screws). The optional FT-01 folding foot kit mounts to the bottom half toward the front for an angled view of the front panel.

This enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in bag packaging. The translucent black version is RM2005STBK. Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available, solid models come in .stp or .x_t, and plastic-safe cleaners should be used.
