PJU181610F is the flange-mount version of the 18 x 16 x 10 in PJU lift-off junction box. Two polycarbonate flanges glued to the fiberglass polyester body allow surface mounting, and the solid cover lifts off once its captive screws are released. The box serves as an instrument enclosure, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, electrical junction box or terminal wiring enclosure, and is aimed at wet, hose-down, hot or highly corrosive sites.
Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish and enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor weathering; the material is easily punched, cut or drilled. Four stainless steel captive cover screws thread into #10-32 brass inserts with retaining O-rings, compressing a captive, oil resistant closed cell neoprene gasket.
The enclosure measures 18.3 in H x 16.52 in W x 10.13 in D (465 x 420 x 257 mm) with a shipping weight of 16 lbs (7.26 kg). Four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws support the optional P1868 inner panel, 16.88 x 14.88 in (429 x 378 mm), available in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass.
The flanges are fixed with stainless steel screws in brass inserts, and mounting hardware is included. The PJU181610F is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, and is rated IEC 60529 IP66. It is rated for -40°C to 130°C (-40°F to 266°F), has a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index, and is REACH and RoHS compliant.
