Hammond PJU16148F 16x14x8 Solid Cover Fiberglass Box, Flange Mount

The PJU16148F is a 16 x 14 x 8 in Type 4X polyester junction box with a solid lift-off cover and two polycarbonate mounting flanges. It is designed for use as an instrument enclosure, an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, an electrical junction box or a terminal wiring enclosure, and provides insulation and protection where equipment may be hosed down, very wet, hot or exposed to highly corrosive conditions.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish and enhanced UV inhibitors to resist outdoor weathering. Installers can easily punch, cut or drill the material for entries. Four stainless steel captive cover screws in #10-32 brass inserts, each with a retaining O-ring, clamp the cover onto a captive, oil resistant closed cell neoprene gasket.

Overall dimensions are 16.05 in H x 14.27 in W x 8.13 in D (408 x 362 x 207 mm), and the shipping weight is 14 lbs (6.35 kg). Four internal #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws take the optional 14R1513 inner panel, 14.75 x 12.88 in (375 x 327 mm), or a terminal kit assembly.

The two flanges are glued to the box and secured with stainless steel screws in brass inserts; mounting hardware is included. The PJU16148F is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with the same NEMA types, and is rated IEC 60529 IP66. It operates from -40°C to 130°C (-40°F to 266°F), has an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb), and is REACH and RoHS compliant.
