Hammond PJ864RLW 8x6x4 In Type 4X Window Lid Fiberglass Junction Box

The PJ864RLW is the window-cover version of the 8 x 6 x 4 PJ raised lid box. It pairs an 8.00 x 6.12 x 4.13 in (203 x 155 x 105 mm) fiberglass reinforced polyester enclosure with a raised cover carrying a bonded polycarbonate viewing window, so gauges, indicators or terminal markings stay visible without opening the door.

It is aimed at instrument and control applications where equipment may be hosed down or be very wet, and where high temperatures or corrosive conditions rule out steel. Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester in gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor use, and can be punched, cut or drilled on site. A 316 stainless steel hinge supports the cover, and a 316 stainless steel lockable snap latch on center pulls it onto an FIP polyurethane gasket. Wall thickness on the drawing is .14 in (3.55 mm).

Inside, four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws take the optional 14R0705 inner panel, 6.75 x 4.88 in. On the back, four 316 stainless steel feet fasten to #10-32 brass inserts with 316 stainless steel screws; foot holes are .34 in (8.74 mm). Stainless mounting brackets and hardware are included.

Series ratings are UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and cUL per CSA 22.2 No. 94, with compliance to NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. Operating temperature runs from 130°C to -40°C and the impact index is 6.78 J (5 ft/lb). The PJ864RLW is RoHS and REACH compliant with a 4 lb (1.81 kg) shipping weight.
