Hammond PJ864R 8 x 6 x 4 in Raised Lift-Off Cover Junction Box

The PJ864R is an 8.00 x 6.12 x 4.13 in (203 x 155 x 105 mm) Type 4X fiberglass reinforced polyester junction box with a raised lift-off solid cover. As the solid lift-off version in its size, it is marked in the series table as meeting Type 6P. It is designed for instrument enclosures, electrical junction boxes, terminal wiring enclosures and electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings in wet, washdown, hot or highly corrosive locations.

The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester, finished in gray with enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering, and easily punched, cut or drilled. The drawing shows a 0.14 in (3.56 mm) wall. Four 316 stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings secure the cover into #10-32 brass inserts, and a captive oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket provides a positive seal.

The optional 14R0705 inner panel measures 6.75 x 4.88 in (171 x 124 mm) and mounts on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws, hardware included; it is offered in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass. Four 316 stainless steel feet attach to rear brass inserts with 316 stainless steel screws.

The PJ864R is UL 508A listed Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, cUL listed to the same types per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with IEC 60529 IP66. It is rated from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), has a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and has a shipping weight of 4 lbs (1.81 kg).
