Hammond PJ744 6.74x3.93x3.88 In Inline Type 4X Enclosure With Feet

The PJ744 is a compact inline enclosure from the PJI Type 4, 4X polyester series, measuring 6.74 x 3.93 x 3.88 in (171 x 100 x 99 mm) and supplied with mounting feet. It suits instrument enclosures, small electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures where equipment may be hosed down or become very wet, or where high temperatures or highly corrosive conditions are present.

The enclosure and matching cover are molded fiberglass polyester in gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering, and are easily punched, cut or drilled. The PJ744 drawing shows four #10-32 brass inserts with stainless steel cover screws and a closed cell neoprene gasket; the series describes the gasket as captive and oil-resistant.

Four stainless steel mounting feet are fitted on this version; the drawing gives an overall height of 7.73 in (196.34 mm) over the feet. The series also allows mounting through rear holes in the enclosure using a #8 x 1 inch screw (not included). The version without feet is PJ744FS.

Inside, four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws accept the optional PJP74 aluminum panel, 4 x 3.13 in; back panels are shown in 0.100 in aluminum or 0.125 in fiberglass. The PJ744 is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with IEC 60529 IP66, operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) and has a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg); REACH and RoHS compliant.
