The PJ20168 is the largest lift-off cover size in the PJ Type 4X polyester junction box series, at 20.00 x 16.00 x 8.13 in (508 x 406 x 207 mm) in the ordering table; the part page lists a nominal 20 x 16 x 8 in (508 x 406 x 203 mm). It is designed for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures in hose-down, very wet, high-temperature or highly corrosive settings.
The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester in gray with enhanced UV inhibitors, and are easily punched, cut or drilled. The PJ20168 drawing shows four #10-32 brass inserts with 316 stainless steel captive cover screws and retaining O-rings, a formed-in-place (FIP) polyurethane gasket and a 0.14 in (3.56 mm) wall.
Its optional inner panel is P2068, 18.44 x 14.44 in (468 x 367 mm), mounted on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws. The drawing lists back panels in 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, and 0.250 in fiberglass.
Four 316 stainless steel feet attach to rear brass inserts with 316 stainless screws; overall length over the feet is 21.47 in (545.39 mm) with 0.34 in (8.74 mm) holes. Ratings are UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, IEC 60529 IP66, an operating range of 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) and a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index. The PJ20168 ships at 17 lbs (7.71 kg) and is REACH and RoHS compliant.
