Hammond PJ16148RL 16x14x8 In Type 4X Solid Raised Lid Fiberglass Box

The PJ16148RL is a 16 x 14 x 8 PJ series enclosure with a solid raised lid, the first size in the family at 8 in class depth. The ordering table lists 16.27 x 14.40 x 8.13 in (413 x 366 x 207 mm), with the long description reading 16.28 x 14.40 x 8.13. It is a roomy non-metallic housing for control components, terminal wiring and instrumentation in wet, hose-down, hot or corrosive environments.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish and enhanced UV inhibitors to withstand outdoor weathering; the material is easily punched, cut or drilled. The drawing specifies a closed cell neoprene gasket, a stainless steel hinge and (2) stainless steel lockable snap latches with a padlock provision.

The optional 14R1513 inner panel, 14.75 x 12.88 in (375 x 327 mm), attaches to four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws. Panels are available in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass. On the rear, four stainless steel mounting feet fasten to #10-32 brass inserts with stainless steel screws, and the foot holes measure .34 in (8.74 mm).

Ratings for the series apply to the PJ16148RL: UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13; cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 per CSA 22.2 No. 94; compliance with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) with a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index. It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships at 14 lbs (6.35 kg).
