Hammond PJ16148H 16x14x8 In Hinged Screw-Cover Type 4X Fiberglass Box

The PJ16148H is the 16.27 x 14.40 x 8.13 in (413 x 366 x 207 mm) PJ Type 4X polyester junction box fitted with a hinged cover and screws. The hinge keeps the cover with the box while wiring and servicing, making it a practical choice for instrument enclosures, control housings for electric, hydraulic or pneumatic equipment, junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures in wet, hose-down, hot or corrosive locations.

Construction is compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester for both box and cover, gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors. On the PJ16148H drawing the cover rides on a stainless steel hinge and closes with two #10-32 brass inserts and stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings, sealing on a closed cell neoprene gasket. The material can be punched, cut or drilled for entries.

An optional 14R1513 inner panel, 14.75 x 12.88 in (375 x 327 mm), mounts on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws; aluminum (0.100 in), white steel and galvannealed (0.075 in) and fiberglass (0.125 in) back panels are shown.

Four stainless steel feet attach to rear brass inserts with stainless screws, for 17.82 in (452.63 mm) overall over the feet and 0.34 in (8.74 mm) mounting holes. It is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with IEC 60529 IP66, operates from 130°C to -40°C and has a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index. Shipping weight is 14 lbs (6.35 kg); REACH and RoHS compliant.
